As if my lack of posts hasn't already stated it, I'm taking a break from the business side of leatherworking for awhile. I'll still accept commissions/custom work as time permits but for the near future I wont be attending any shows or mass producing any work.

Custom Order Deadline - 12/1

I wont be accepting any more custom orders between 12/1 and 1/1. December 1st is the latest I can start a new project and have it ready for Christmas. I've had to set a limit this year to keep my sanity and actually enjoy the holidays with my family. If we've discussed a project I need to receive your deposit by 12/1.

Strangefolk- the aftermath

Here's a quick overview of StrangeFolk festival last weekend. The first day weather was fantastic! Unfortunately my sales were not. The second day brought rain and cool weather but my sales were much better, so I couldn’t complain too much. I did sell my two favorite items I made, a journal with an Asian dragon that came out really nice and the ship wallet I previously posted. I'm gearing up for Strangefolk-http://www.strangefolkfestival.com/ This will be the first show I've done all year and I'm looking forward to it. Having been a vendor at past shows this is always a fun one where you can find some good eats, treats and check out the other vendor’s wares. Stop by if you're in the area, you won’t be sorry.

Here's a wallet that’s ready to be dyed, finished and stitched up. I'll be posting a few more preview pieces as the show gets closer. I'm really excited with the wallets I've been putting together, I think these are some of the better pieces I've done. Post some comments or email if there's anything you would like to see me make.

Here's a bi-fold wallet in progress that I'm donating as a raffle prize for Rallylujah!, a scooter rally here in STL on 8/20. There's a Vespa on one half and a Lambretta on the other half and I went for a weathered look with the dye.

Dont forget to check out Rallylujah! Aug 20th in STL. There will be some good times had by all.

From my family to you and yours Happy Thanksgiving. As a past due update we got everything straightened with the bank and were able to buy a fantastic new home. We're in the process of moving in. So back to leatherwork, art and various things inbetween in the next couple of weeks as we get settled in.

I won’t be taking any new orders until at least Dec 1. We sold our home much quicker than we anticipated and are having trouble securing a new home loan thanks to a Bank of America error which they admit they made but are dragging their feet on fixing. So, my family and I are moving into some temporary housing which makes it very difficult to do quality work. Supposedly Bank of America actually fixed everything today. I'm just waiting for the confirmation to come through. Forgive me if I’m a little skeptical but they have told me three different dates that came and went.

I hate to rant on this blog that should be about my leather work but....I just can’t resist. Bank of America made my life a nightmare for the last week and a half. My family and I truly looked forward to selling our house. We worked our butts off and sacrificed allot to make a sale happen and when it all came together Bank of America dropped a big turd on what should have been a celebration. Since last Monday I’ve spent about 6 hours on the phone, being transferred, hung up on and lied to in addition to more hours at a branch pleading with them to correct their mistake. Oh, they know they made a mistake but "it takes time to correct"…….ten flippin’ days to send a fax? I would STRONGLY advise everyone that reads this to avoid Bank of America and their services like the plague!
